Now you're just somebody that I used to know Now you're just somebody that I used to know Now and then I think of all the times you screwed me over But had me believin it was always something that I'd done But I don't wanna live that way Reading into every word you say You said that you could let it go .... ----by Gotye the addiction to sadness and resignation was in the last year ... you remember why, i'm sure ... that special gift given was taken back and i would have rejoiced in that because of what it would have meant for you ... except that it was her .... and you know, and knew then why. i used to think i'd failed you by not being able to accept ... but now i see more clearly and realize that you failed me first because when i let her go, you wouldn't ... not by then. someday you'll see more clearly too and i hope there are people around you who love you like i did and like i wanted you to have from the "other" if and when you took that special gift back ... in the end, you stopped loving me and i would have recovered from that had it been for any other reason than her. you'll see one day how covert it all was ... how all the "goodness" and well wishes for us from her were veiled lies and part of her scheme to come between us by having you believe what was presented on the surface ... don't hate yourself for it ... and please don't let it eat you up inside ... i know you and how there's a bit of danger of that happening ... but i pray it won't. above all things, be happy you who once was mein Wolf, mein Magic Man. all ways always. |
