It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

so much is happening so fast around me .. both in the virtual world and in my real time ... amazing how we seem to learn about ourselves our whole lives ... how we grow as people our whole lives ... and how many little pieces of ourselves we leave along the way and how many little pieces of others we gather to fill the little places in ourselves ... love and friendship ... sometimes the line is so blurred ... and sometimes it's so clear ... but worst are the times when the other person doesn't see it the same way you do .. people get hurt and it's sad ... and it's sometimes sad how changing a relationship can change so much of who we are ... it's never worked for me ... well unless it's a new friendship but i think even then, in the beginning, i know it's someone i want more with than just friendship and so the interaction is different from the get go ... it's those times you take a long term friendship and take it to a higher level .. take it to ... love ... and in the end you sit and wonder, was what you shared as lovers worth losing that friend for? ... i ask myself that question almost daily and almost daily my answer to myself changes. to say no means you would give up all of that to go back to the point you were at before you became lovers and that would be hard ... i guess it's like the song "The Dance" -cringes quoting a country song- cuz it sorta just was like that ... anyways ... too much sad ... time for kitty to go out and PLAY!! -prowls 'round looking for ... they know who .. grins-
